River Ridge vs North Atlanta: Knights looking to put the brakes on Warriors speed

Scouting the Knights

The road doesn’t get any easier for River Ridge this week as North Atlanta comes calling. After being down by as many as three scores last week, the Knights fought back to within one score before turning it over on downs as they were driving. Similar to Creekview, the turnover bug bit River Ridge last week in the worst ways as Spraybery was able to capitalize on all of the Knights turnovers. Bright spots for River Ridge were Grant Hollier and Thomas Thompsen who showed great play making abilities at receiver, along with up and comer Sam Vincent and the stalwart Isaiah Coughlin. Defensively several Knights have stood out but we have to commend the undersized but extremely active linebacking group of Wyatt McCarty, Brandon Burdette, Will Hughes and Brice Tomlinson. This group is constantly making plays in the backfield. Between Burdette and Hughes alone, they have recorded over 96 total tackles.

Scouting the Warriors

The North Atlanta Warriors look to make it four straight wins to open this season as they make the trip up to Woodstock this week. The Warriors have been dominant in their first three games, averaging 49 points per game and allowing just 7 points per game including one shutout already. The Warriors have plenty of team speed and have found ways to score on offense, defense and on special teams. Quarterback Ian Reynolds has passed for over 300 yards this season and completed passes to six different receivers. Darius Malcolm might be the most explosive player on this team with 2 Ints, 5 total TDs.

Pundit's Pick

River Ridge will represent the most challenging opponent for North Atlanta to date. The Knights will have to find a way to cut down on turnovers to help combat a potent North Atlanta team. We believe the Warriors have the advantage in team speed this week and that just might be the difference in the game. We like North Atlanta by 5.
