Creekview vs Hillgrove: Both defenses look to dominate in Week-2

Scouting the Grizzlies

The Creekview Grizzlies are back at home this week after opening up their season with a big win over Cambridge. Grizzlies quarterback Austin Guest showed poise in his second year as the starter passing for 137 yards and rushing for 142 yards in the victory. Michael Roach, Jackson Stanley and Cal Shubert look to be a formidable receiving trio for Creekview. The Grizzly defense was imposing for most of last week, led by Reed Anderson, they made it tough sledding for the Cambridge offense. Andrew Adams seems to be a DB with a lot of moxie and excelled in man to man coverage without a lot of help over the top.

Scouting the Hawks

The Hillgrove Hawks lost a defensive battle last Friday as it was a late special teams play that was the heartbreaker for the Hawks. Hillgrove’s defense did keep an explosive River Ridge offense in check, limiting the Knights to one field goal, outside of the special teams TD. Meanwhile the Hawks turned to Caleb Walters at running back to help steady the offense. The junior back rushed for 129 yards. It was a relatively balanced attack as quarterback Toryn Wilkins passed for 189 yards on the night.

Pundit's Pick

This game was a close one last season and we expect more of the same this year. The Grizzlies have been a different team at home over the last few seasons and this might be the difference. We do expect a higher scoring game this year, but we believe that Creekview’s defense will have the last say. Grizzlies by 3.
